Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has created a special team to focus exclusively on fast-tracking top projects. The team, named the 'War Room', will be headed by the Chief Minister himself.
The team of senior bureaucrats and people hired from outside the government will look into projects from Mumbai and the state of Maharashtra, and remove all bottlenecks in the way.
Bombay First, an NGO, and the global consultancy firm, McKinsey, helped the state government to set up the War Room.
The Chief Minister has also personally hand-picked two officers on special duty (OSDs) who are also overseeing the projects. Below these OSDs are a team of associates where each member has a specific task.
Construction of the international airport at Navi Mumbai, the proposed coastal road from Kandivili to Nariman Point, the Mumbai Transharbour link, Mumbai Metro and development of land belonging to the Mumbai Port Trust are some of the projects that will be looked into by War Room.
