Netafim India has won a contract worth $62 million (approx Rs 381 crore) for a drip-irrigation project in Karnataka.
The company has bagged the contract to build an automated water pipeline network to more efficiently drip-irrigate about 29,000 acre (11,800 ha) of land in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka.
The project involves implementation of Ramthal (Marol) lift irrigation scheme in Bagalkot. The project will be implemented by Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam at an estimated cost of Rs 421 crore.
The company will develop the project with partner Megha Engineering and Infrastructure.
