NHPC has synchronised Unit-IV of Stage-II of the Uri hydel power project in Baramula district of Jammu & Kashmir.
With the synchronisation of Unit-IV, with 60 MW capacity, the company has commissioned Stage-II of the Uri hydel power project.
The project, with a total 240 MW capacity, comprises four units, each with 60 MW capacity. NHPC has invested Rs 1,800 crore in the project.
Unit-I and Unit-III of the project had been commissioned by the company in September 2013, while Unit-II of the plant was commissioned in November 2013. All the four units can together generate 1,124 million units of energy in a 90 per cent dependable year.
