The Project Monitoring Group (PMG), of the Prime Minister, has cleared 11 power plant projects worth Rs 52,349 crore, within days of the Prime Minister calling for speeding up of the infrastructure projects.
These projects were delayed because of non-availability of coal, and environmental clearance issues.

The fuel-supply agreements (FSAs), for the approved projects will be signed by August 2013.
Out of the 15 projects referred by the PMG, four projects were not cleared, of which one is Neyveli Lignite Corporation, which faces forest clearance issues.
