Shipping Ministry is likely to award 30 port projects in FY-14.
The proposed 30 port projects will be set up with an investment of around Rs 25,000 crore and it will bring in an additional capacity of 288 million tpa at an estimated investment of Rs 24,633 crore.
Of the total 30 port projects, 19 projects will be implemented on PPP basis; seven via captive or private and the remaining through the port's own resources.
The ministry has appointed Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), for preparing feasibility report for the Dugarajapatnam port in Andhra Pradesh.
The report has already been prepared for the Sagar port in West Bengal.
In last year, the government awarded 32 projects, which will add a capacity of about 137 million tpa at an estimated investment of Rs 6,765 crore.
