Tata Motors has bagged an order for over 2,700 'urban' buses from state road transport utilities, under the JNNURM-II scheme.
The company received the order from Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to supply 487 buses, and another for 780 buses from Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) for Tata Marcopolo-built buses, as per the Urban Bus Specifications, under JNNURM-II scheme.
Around over 60,000 Marcopolo buses are plying across India presently.
Tata Motors also has a large network of over 1,800 authorised service set-ups to support these buses.
