Uninor, the Indian unit of Norwegian telecom major, Telenor, is planning to improve its network coverage with an investment of around Rs 607 crore, over the next five months.
The company will improve network coverage in the six regions where it has its operations. With this in mind, Uninor intends to add 5,000 network sites in the telecom circles of Uttar Pradesh West and Uttar Pradesh East; Bihar including Jharkhand; Maharashtra; Goa; Andhra Pradesh; and Gujarat. With this, Uninor will have close to 24,000 such sites.
Of the proposed investment, half of the funds will be utilised on operating expenses and the rest will be spent on capital expenditure.
