The government has extended the last
date for the nine successful bidders participating in the restructuring of Delhi
and Mumbai airports to firm up their consortium partners, to 3 June 2005.
The ten-day extension had been given
because some of the bidders had sought clarifications on a number of issues.
The government would require at least
two months to conduct the technical evaluation of the bids before finalizing the
winning consortium.
Conceding that the Government would
require at least two months to conduct the technical evaluation of the bids and
studying the plans before identifying the winner, officials were categorical in
stating that the current extension would not affect the earlier time-table set
for the restructuring of the two metro airports.
