1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Foundation stone for Ganga Expressway project by 15 January

On 15 January 2008, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Ms.Mayawati is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the 1,000 km Ganga Expressway project from Greater Noida-Gazipur.

Survey work for the project is complete. Financial bids for the project will be opened on 13 January 2008 and the winning bidders will be announced on 14 January 2008. Around 18 companies including DLF, GMR, Reliance Energy, JP Group, GVK Constructions, Nagarjuna Construction and Omaxe have evinced interest in the proposed project.

UP Expressway Development Authority will form a special purpose vehicle with each of the winning bidder and each winning bidder will be given a 250 km stretch to build the expressway. The successful bidders will also be given rights to develop 64,000 ha of land along the expressway, which will be used for real estate activity including residential, industrial and institutional areas.

The expressway will start from Ballia and pass through Ghazipur, Ramnagar, Varanasi, Chunar, Bhadohi, Mirzapur, Allahabad, Unchahar, Unnao, Kanpur, Bithoor, Kannauj, Fatehgarh, Budaun, Narora and Bulandshahr before touching Noida.

Link expressways have also been proposed around the Ganga Expressway. These are a Jhansi-Kanpur Link Expressway, a Kanpur-Gorakhpur Link Expressway, an Agra-Kanpur Link Expressway and a Baghpat-Saharanpur- Hardwar-Dehradun Link
