ABB has bagged orders worth $38 million (approx Rs 231 crore) for a 1,320 MW coal-fired power project in Nellore district in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The order has been awarded by NCC, the EPC contractor for the project, The scope of work includes design, engineering, installation and commissioning of the electrical balance of plant (EBoP) as well as a 400-kilovolt (kV) gas insulated switchgear (GIS) substation.
NCC Power Projects, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nagarjuna Construction Company, in a JV with Gayatri Projects, is setting up a 1,320 MW (2x660 MW) coal-based power plant. The project will be spread across 850 acre of land, and coal linkages will be imported from Indonesia as fuel. The project is scheduled for completion by 2014.
