The Karnataka government is planning to invest around Rs 2,000 crore through Karnataka Industrial Areas Development (KIADB), to acquire land for implementing Phase-II of the Bangalore Metro Rail project.
Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-II envisages development of four extension lines to Phase-I. Phase-II has two new lines with a total length of 72 km. The project will be executed with budgetary support from both, the state and central governments, along with external borrowing from the Japanese government.
Currently, the project is awaiting final approval from the Centre.
The project is expected to be completed by 2017
