JSW Group plans to raise around Rs 1,487 crore through a long-term loan to set up a greenfield electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The facility will be developed under the newly incorporated JSW Greentech on a 100-acre site in the Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) at Bidkin. The Maharashtra project is part of JSW Group’s broader strategy to heavily invest in green mobility, positioning the group as a key player in India’s transition to cleaner and sustainable transportation.
The plant is designed to have an annual production capacity of 10,000 electric buses and 5,000 electric trucks, alongside a supporting ecosystem for EV components. This venture aligns with India’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting green transportation.
JSW Group has previously announced plans to establish large-scale EV and battery manufacturing facilities across India. This initiative is expected to bolster the group’s presence in the rapidly expanding EV market while contributing to a sustainable future.
