Kovilpatti Lakshmi Roller Flour Mills’ Board of Directors has inter-alia considered and approved a new flour mill and solar power plant in Tamil Nadu.
The board has approved installation of a new flour mill with a proposed capacity addition of 1,20,000 tpa at Gangaikondan, Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore.
It has an existing capacity of 72,000 tpa, while the existing capacity utilisation is 80 percent. The project will be funded through a combination of debt and internal accruals. The project will be completed by Q4/FY23.
The new flour mill will increase the existing capacity at food division of the company and help the company to meet the additional market demand in future.
The Board has approved installation of five MW solar power plant at Gangaikondan on leasehold lands at an estimated cost of Rs 30 crore for the purpose of captive consumption, which will help the company to reduce its dependence on non-renewable sources of energy.
