Mitsubishi Elevators is setting up a greenfield plant at Kolar, Karnataka.

The greenfield plant, to manufacture elevators and escalators, will come up at Vemagal, in Kolar district, which is 60 km from Bangalore. The project will come up with an investment of Rs 150-200 crore.

Mitsubshi has been allocated 22 acre of land at Vemagal for the facility. Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) is supposed to be in the process of completing the land allocation formalities required by the company.

Japanese-based Mitsubishi Electrical Corporation established Mitsubishi Elevator ETA India in August 2012, to develop and market elevators and escalators in India.

With the new facility, Mitsubishi Elevators is looking to launch a series of elevators that deliver basic features selected from the platform designs of Mitsubishi Electric’s Nexiez global series of elevators.
