National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has expedited the construction work of Naubasta ramp to connect the Ramadevi-Panki bypass with Kanpur South.
An amount of Rs 11 crore has been released by NHAI headquarters for the project. NHAI has directed its local unit to complete the work by December 2015.
The bypass between Ramadevi and Panki did not have any entry point or any ramp to come down from the bypass. Due to which a vehicle entering from either side had to go through the entire bypass for coming down which resulted in traffic jam at the entry point at Ramadevi or at Panki. Therefore, NHAI has decided to construct a ramp at Hamirpur road crossing.
The construction work has been initiated by the local unit at three sides simultaneously. The work on the fourth side has not yet started because around 50 shops of Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) at that side have not been demolished as yet.
