The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) is planning to acquire 3,000 acre for its steel plant in Bellary, Karnataka.
This is the second steel plant with an annual capacity of three million tonne. The estimated cost of this plant is approximately Rs 18,000 crore.
NMDC has received the green signal from the state government for water and power required for this steel plant. It has appointed MECON as a consultant for the preparation of techno-economic feasibility report for this project.
The company plans to tie up with expertise in steel making for the project in future.
