Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power (NUPPL), a joint venture between NLC India and UPRVUNL has announced the successful commercial operation declaration (COD) of Unit-2 (660 MW) at the Ghatampur Thermal Power Project.
This milestone, effective from 09 December, 2025, brings the total capacity of the project to 1,320 MW, with Units-1 and 2 now fully operational. The Ghatampur project, located in Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, is a major coal-based thermal power plant with a total planned capacity of 1,980 MW across three supercritical units of 660 MW each.
With Unit-2 now in operation, the third and final unit is expected to be completed within the 2025-26 financial year, ensuring a significant boost in reliable and sustainable power supply to Uttar Pradesh and Assam.
