Narayana Health has acquired around three acres of land on Bannerghatta Main Road in Bengaluru for Rs 246 crore, strengthening its presence in one of the city’s fastest-growing healthcare corridors. The transaction, split across three sale deeds dated 03 February, 2025, was made with members of the Markose family and their firm, Kelachandra Veneer Industries, according to Propstack documents.
The largest parcel, spanning 93,500 sq. ft. with some dilapidated structures, was bought from the firm for Rs 177.7 crore. Additionally, Neelu Markose sold 17,424 sq. ft. for Rs 33.1 crore, while Thomas Markose sold 18,513 sq. ft. for Rs 35.17 crore. The new land in Hulimavu offers strategic proximity to Narayana’s existing facilities and could be developed into a super-specialty hospital, research centre, or training institute. This acquisition follows a Rs 169 crore purchase of 1.2 acres in Begur Hobli in March 2024.
Founded by Dr. Devi Shetty in 2000, Narayana Health now operates 19 hospitals and 3 heart centres, with over 5,860 operational beds. Experts say the deal reflects the group’s long-term commitment to scale infrastructure amid growing urban demand for advanced healthcare.
