The Unit I 600 MW of the 1,200 MW coal based power project set up by Udupi
Power Corporation at Nandikur near Padubidre in Udupi district of Karnataka is
nearing completion.
According to sources, the company has put to test the functioning of the
boilers, steam generator and other machines recently and is gearing up for the
commissioning of Unit I soon.
The entire project is being set up at a cost of Rs 4,400 crore wherein Lanco
Infratech is the contractor.
