Paradeep Phosphates (PPL) is planning brownfield expansion-cum-diversification project within the existing DAP-cum-NPK complex fertilisers production facility at Paradeep in Orissa.
The Rs 9459.17-crore project will include setting up of a coal handling plant, coal gasification-based ammonia-urea stream, a nitric acid plant, an ammonium nitrate plant, granular single super phosphate (GSSP) and an aluminium fluoride unit, apart from envisaging expansion of diammonium phosphate (DAP) capacity. Also, it will comprise 330,000 tpa nitric acid plant, 350,000 tpa ammonium nitrate plant, 500,000 tpa GSSP plant and a 9,500 tpa aluminium fluoride unit. It also provides for increase DAP capacity to 1.9 million tpa from 1.5 million tpa. The proposal envisages creation of coal handling capacity of seven million tpa, ammonia capacity of 2.17 million tpa and urea capacity of 1.3 million tpa.
