SAEL Industries has commissioned its first solar power project in Rajasthan, with a capacity of approx. 300 MW, ahead of schedule.
The project, located in Jalore district and spread over 1,000 acres, was executed through its subsidiary Sunfree Energy RJP1. It includes 200 MW (alternate current) and 298 MW (direct current) capacity. The company signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services (RUVITL) on 20 February, 2024, at a tariff of Rs 2.61 per kWh.
Commissioned on August 17, before its scheduled commercial operation date (SCOD), the project is expected to boost power supply within Rajasthan by enabling early transmission and additional electricity availability.
SAEL Industries, a growing renewable energy company, has diversified operations spanning agri waste-to-energy, utility-scale solar, and solar module manufacturing. With a portfolio of over 7.7 GW of solar independent power producer (IPP) assets across India, the commissioning marks a significant milestone in its expansion and contribution to India’s clean energy transition.
