Siemens has bagged a contract worth Rs 104.4 crore from Bangladesh Steels Re-Rolling Mills (BSRM), a steel manufacturing company in Bangladesh.
Siemens has bagged a contract to build the first private sector-funded Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation. Siemens, end-to-end solutions provider of power solutions, will be implementing the project on a turnkey basis. Together with the 23OkV/33kV GIS, Siemens will also provide high-performance, reliable, cost-competitive and energy- efficient technologies such as control relay panels and a substation automation system. The project is expected to be commissioned in 15 months.
BSRM will be utilising the GIS substation to provide uninterrupted power to its new 1 MTPA steel plant. The GIS solution to be implemented for BSRM is part of the SMART (simple-to-use, maintenance-friendly, affordable, reliable and timely-to-market) product portfolio that has high-performance and utility value while being cost- competitive.
