Tata Steel has partnered with Australia’s InQuik Group to introduce modular bridge technology in India, aimed at accelerating bridge construction and reducing costs. The collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding, will combine Tata Steel’s manufacturing expertise with InQuik’s prefabricated steel formwork system.
This ready-to-install design allows concrete to be poured on-site into steel moulds, significantly speeding up construction compared to traditional methods. These modular bridges are engineered for durability, capable of withstanding harsh environments, and are ideal for remote areas with limited access to heavy equipment. The initiative supports India's infrastructure development goals, especially in connecting remote and underserved regions.
Faster bridge deployment is expected to improve transportation links, shorten travel times, facilitate trade, and promote regional growth. Tata Steel views this collaboration as part of its broader strategy to transition from a traditional steel manufacturer to a provider of smart and sustainable construction solutions.
