UltraTech Cement has announced the successful commissioning of additional cement production capacity totaling 1.4 million tonne per annum (MTPA) as part of its ongoing debottlenecking and efficiency enhancement efforts.
These initiatives form a critical component of the company’s broader capacity expansion programme aimed at strengthening operational performance across key regions. The increased output has been achieved through strategic upgrades and optimisations at three grinding units: 0.6 MTPA at Nagpur (Maharashtra), 0.4 MTPA at Panipat (Haryana), and another 0.4 MTPA at Jhajjar (Haryana).
All units have completed stabilisation and are now contributing to the company’s production output. With the successful commissioning of these initiatives, UltraTech’s domestic grey cement manufacturing capacity now stands at 184.76 MTPA. The additions are aligned with its long-term growth strategy and catering to the growing needs of the construction and infrastructure sectors.
With demand projections remaining strong, especially in the infrastructure and housing segments, the company’s timely capacity augmentation is expected to support growth while preserving competitive advantage.
