Adani Power, a subsidiary of Adani group, has commissioned the 1,320 MW coal-based power plant at Kawai in Baran district of Rajasthan.
The Kawai project has two critical units, each having a generation capacity of 660 MW. Of the two units, Unit-I is operational since 2013, whereas Unit-II was commissioned in January 2014.
After commissioning of the 1,320 MW coal-based power project in Rajasthan, the overall electricity generation capacity of the project has risen to 7,920 MW.
The power produced from the Kawai project will be supplied to the state of Rajasthan under the existing long term PPAs (power purchase agreements).
