Alstom bagged a contract from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to supply components and services for the 2x800 MW Gadarwara super thermal power plant at Gadarwara, Narsingpur in Madhya Pradesh.
The order worth €100 million (approx. Rs 709.17 crore) is for designing the boilers and supply pressure parts of the 800 MW supercritical boilers along with pulverisers and airpreheater components. It will also assist BHEL with technical advisors during the erection and commissioning of the two units. Unit I of the project is expected to be commissioned in 2016, while unit II is expected to be commissioned in 2017.
NTPC is setting up a 1600 MW (2X800 MW) Gadarwara super thermal power unit with supercritical technology in Narsimhapur district of Madhya Pradesh. Arki Techno Consultant India has been appointed as a consultant for the project. The Board of Directors of NTPC accorded the investment approval to the project in the month of February 2013.
