Reliance Power’s wholly owned subsidiary, Sasan Power, has achieved boiler light up for its Unit-V of Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) located in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh.
The coal-based power project has a total capacity of 3,960 MW (6 x 660 MW). The total capacity of the Sasan Power project as of now is 3,300 MW.
The first four 660 MW units of the project are already operational and the sixth unit of the project is in an advanced stage of construction and is expected to be commissioned in the next few months.
Coal production has already begun from the 20 million tpa capacity of the Moher-Amlohri coal mines.
