The government of India and the government of the People's Republic of China have signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to India.
An MoU has been signed between the Ministry of Railways, India, and the government of China on strengthening cooperation in the railways sector.
Under the MoU, both sides have agreed to enhance cooperation in the railways sector in the following areas:
• speed-raising
• studying feasibility of cooperation in High-Speed Railways
• Heavy-Haul transportation training of Indian Railway personnel
• Redevelopment of Railway stations
• setting up of a Railway University in India
An MoU has been signed between the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and Beiqi Foton Motor for setting up an industrial park in Maharashtra. As per the MoU, a 1,250 acre Industrial Park will be set up near Pune, Maharashtra, providing cluster-type development and generation of employment.
Another MoU was signed between China Development Bank Corporation and iNDEXTb, the nodal agency of the government of Gujarat for investment promotion, for setting up industrial parks in Gujarat. iNDEXTb will assist Chinese investors in obtaining the required clearances and creating infrastructure facilities in the parks. Chinese investors will set up manufacturing units in the electrical, electronics, plastics and other sectors in these industrial parks.
