Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) tractor maker has invested Rs 200 crore in its capex plan.
The tractor manufacturer has pumped funds into its capex plan for its Nagpur facility in Maharashtra. The process started over a year ago and is nearing an end, with the last unit set to become functional soon. This has already increased the plant's capacity to 90,000 tractors in a year as against 75,000 before the expansion. With a capacity of 90,000 tractors per annum, the Nagpur plant is currently operating at 76 per cent of its potential. The utilization stood at 88 per cent when the capacity was 75,000 tractors.
Meanwhile, the company has already invested Rs 300 crore at its Zahirabad plant in Andhra Pradesh.
Through its expansion plan, the total capacity of M&M would go up by one lakh tractors per year to four lakh tractors.
