Malaysia-based Mudajaya Group Berhad has evinced interest to develop two ultra mega power plant (UMPP) projects in India.
The company intends to build and operate two ultra mega power plant (UMPP) projects with a capacity of 4,000 MW each in India.
For the purpose, the company, with its Indian partner, RK Power, is scouting for a partner, either from Malaysia or India, to form a consortium and apply for a request for qualification (RfQ) document for the UMPP.
Currently, Mudajaya is undertaking a 1,440 MW coal-fired power plant through its 26 per cent associate company, RKM Powergen (RKMP).
