GMR Infrastructure has bagged the Rs 1,750 crore Hyderabad-Vijayawada
four-lane highway project on BOT basis.
The highway measuring 181 kms on NH-9 entails designing, engineering,
finance, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of the project.
The company was one of the five bidders for the highway project, which was
caught in controversy after several rounds of litigation in the Delhi high court
and the Supreme Court over who would be allowed to place bids for the project.
GMR has agreed to share 31 per cent of the revenue in the first year with an
annual increment of one percentage point for the duration of concession period
of 25 years.
