The estimated value of Services exports for June 2025 was USD 32.84 billion, up from USD 28.67 billion in June 2024.Non-Petroleum exports were USD 30.53 billion in June 2025 compared to USD 29.67 billion in June 2024. Nonpetroleum, Non-Gems & Jewellery (gold, silver & precious metals) exports were USD 28.74 billion in June 2025 compared to USD 27.43 billion in June 2024.The overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in April-June 2025 were USD 210.31 billion, an increase of 5.9 percent against the overall exports of USD 134.69 billion in April-June 2024.ImportsMerchandise imports in June 2025 were valued at USD 53.92 billion, as compared to USD 56.00 billion in June 2024. The Services imports for June 2025 were USD 17.58 billion, up from USD 15.14 billion in June 2024.The overall imports (Merchandise and Services combined) in June 2025 were USD 71.50 billion as against USD 71.14 billion in June 2024. During April-June 2025, the total imports stood at USD 230.62 billion (USD 220.94 billion), a growth of 4.38 percent.Non-Petroleum imports were USD 40.12 billion in June 2025 compared to USD 40.94 billion in June 2024. Similarly, the Non-Petroleum, Non-Gems & Jewellery (gold, silver & precious metals) imports were USD 36.57 billion in June 2025 compared to USD 36.55 billion in June 2024.TRADE BALANCEThe trade deficit in June 2025 was USD 3.51 billion, compared to USD 7.30 billion in June 2024. The trade deficit in April-June 2024-25 was USD 20.31 billion, while it was USD 22.42 billion during April-June 2023-24.INFLATIONThe annual rate of inflation based on All India Wholesale Price Index (WPI) number is -0.13 percent for June 2025 (over June 2024). The negative rate of inflation in June 2025 was primarily due to decrease in prices of Manufacture of Food products, Mineral oils, Basic metals, Crude petroleum and natural gas, etc. The month-over-month change in WPI for June 2025 stood at -0.19 percent as compared to May 2025.Changes in Major WPI Categories:The index for Primary Articles increased by 0.81 percent to 185.8 in June 2025 from 184.3 for the month of May 2025. Price of minerals (1.49 percent), non-food articles (1.26 percent) and food articles (0.82 percent) increased in June 2025 as compared to May 2025. The price of Crude Petroleum & Natural Gas (-0.44) decreased in June 2025 as compared to May 2025. The index for Fuel & Power declined by 2.52 percent to 143.0 in June 2025 from 146.7 for the month of May 2025. Price of electricity (9.10 percent), mineral oils (-0.54 percent) and coal (-0.07 percent) decreased in June 2025 as compared to May 2025. Manufactured products index declined by 0.07 percent to 144.8 in June 2025 from 144.9 for the month of May 2025. Out of the 22 NIC two-digit groups for manufactured products, 11 groups witnessed an increase in prices, 6 groups witnessed a decrease in prices, and 5 groups witnessed no change in prices. Some of the important groups that showed a month-over-month increase in prices were other manufacturing; machinery and equipment; other transport equipment; pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemical and botanical products; computer, electronic and optical products, etc. Some of the groups that witnessed a decrease in prices were the manufacture of Basic metals, Food products, fabricated Metal products, except machinery and equipment, Tobacco products, Rubber and Plastics products, etc., in June 2025 as compared to May 2025. The Food Index, consisting of %u2018Food Articles%u2019 from Primary Articles group and %u2018Food Product%u2019 from Manufactured Products group, have increased from 189.5 in May 2025 to 190.2 in June 2025.
