The Renewal Power sector, led by Solar Power (Rs 1,32,047.60 crore) and Wind Power (Rs 56,100.10 crore), together accounted for 31.67 percent of the total fresh investment emanated in July 2025. On the other hand, the Conventional Power projects accounted for Rs 45,926 crore (7.73 percent), comprising Hydel Power (Rs 24,550 crore; 4.13 percent) and Thermal Power (Rs 21,376 crore; 3.60 percent).Manufacturing: Manufacturing attracted Rs 2,02,509.87 crore (34.09 percent of the total fresh investment) across 176 projects. Among the sub-sectors, the largest contribution came from Plastic Products with Rs 90,598.02 crore (15.25 percent). In this sub-sector, the bulk of the total investment was brought in by the Rs 90,000 crore HDPP project of Haldia Petrochemicals. Similarly, the Rs 30,267.47 crore (5.26 percent) seen in the Iron & Steel sector could be attributed to the Rs 30,000 crore steel project of Kalyani Steels. Other sub-sectors, such as Food & Agro Products, Machinery, and Rubber Products, had smaller shares, while Refineries, Fertilisers, and Textiles reported negligible fresh investment.Infrastructure: The Infrastructure sector experienced a slowdown in the announcement of projects by the Government sector during the first four months of this fiscal FY2026. In July 2025, the sector attracted Rs 1,52,707.41 crore (25.71 percent) across 1,145 projects, ranking third after the Electricity and Manufacturing sectors. The sub-sectors, that attracted significant investment proposals were Roadways (Rs 54,602.39 crore; 9.19 percent) and Real Estate with Rs 52,646.04 crore (8.86 percent). In the Roadways sector, NHAI announced 16 new projects with a total outlay of Rs 27,724.77 crore. Of this, the Rs 11,492 crore Jaipur-Pachpadra Expressway project in Rajasthan was the largest. In the Real Estate sector, a Rs 23,731.48 crore Affordable Renting House project of Navbharat Mega Developers of the Adani group in Maharashtra was the most notable one.Among the sub-sectors, other contributors included Community Services (Rs 16,331.25 crore; 2.75 percent) and Commercial Complexes (Rs 5,011.89 crore; 0.84 percent). Smaller allocations were seen in sectors like Industrial Parks, Water-related infrastructure, Power Distribution, and Storage & Distribution. Mining: The Mining sector remained subdued, attracting only Rs 1,393.83 crore (0.23 percent) from eight projects. A Rs 1225.21 crore open-cast mining project of Western Coalfields in Maharashtra was the largest new proposal seen in this sector. Major sub-sectors like Metallic Ores and Petroleum Oil & Gas saw no capacity expansion commitments.Irrigation: The Irrigation sector registered 44 projects worth Rs 2,853.60 crore (0.48 percent), indicating modest investments by State government agencies.BY STATESIn July 2025, the distribution of fresh investments across states shows a clear dominance of a few states, both in terms of total value, attracting private investment.Among the major states, Andhra Pradesh emerged as the biggest beneficiary of both private and mega project investments. The state led the rankings with Rs 1,74,215.54 crore (29.33 percent of the total) from 64 projects. Of the 123 mega projects announced during July 2025, 15 projects worth Rs 1,70,866.98 crore were cornered by the southern state. Some of them are the Rs 90,000 crore HDPP project of Haldia Petrochemicals, the Rs 30,000 crore steel project of Kalyani Steels, and the Rs 20,000 crore Green Ammonia project at Krishnapatnam of Yamna Ltd.Maharashtra ranked second with Rs 1,08,901.16 crore (18.33 percent) from 241 projects.
