The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has extended the completion deadline for the Madhuban Bapudham rail-overbridge (ROB) by another five months after project agencies requested more time.
The decision was made in a review meeting with the railways and UP State Bridge Corporation (UPSBCL). GDA’s media coordinator, Rudresh Shukla, mentioned that UPSBCL needs an additional month for its pending work, while the railways provided a five-month timeline for completion. The ROB, which has been under construction since 2020, is expected to be finished within five to six months.
Spanning 751 mtrs., the four-lane bridge will connect Hapur Road to Delhi-Meerut Road and cost Rs 90 crore. Once complete, it will provide a much-needed bypass, reducing the 14 km detour commuters currently face. Localities like Madhuban Bapudham and Govindpuram will benefit from better access to the Delhi-Meerut Road. The project has been delayed due to design changes, funding issues, and operational delays.
