Google is set to invest USD 10 billion to establish a one-GW data centre cluster across three sites in and around Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The project spans campuses in Adivivaram, Tarluvada, and Rambilli, and aims to commence operations by July 2028, contingent on receiving state approvals and infrastructure clearances. The proposal includes the deployment of three high-capacity submarine cables with landing stations and extensive metro fibre connectivity to support large-scale cloud and AI services.
A subsidiary or affiliate, Raiden Infotech India has separately proposed a Rs 87,250 crore AI-powered data centre in the same region. Combined, the projects require around 480 acres of land and 2,091 MW of power. Discussions between Google executives and Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh are expected on October 14 to formalise the investment, with the state's investment board likely to review the proposal shortly. The project represents a major milestone in Google’s Asia-Pacific expansion strategy.
