The government is set to offer nine new road projects for this financial year with a cumulative length of 895 km and project cost of Rs 17,815 crore.
Three road projects are expected to be under Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model and the remaining six are to be put out under Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC).
The BOT projects expected are Mukarba Chowk (Delhi)-Panipat, Agra-Etawah and Solapur-Bijapur. Six laning of Agra-Etawah project comes under NHDP -V while Solapur-Bijapur is from NHDP-III.
Under EPC, the six stretches to be offered are Varanasi-Gorakhpur (package II, III & IV), Varanasi-Sultanpur (package I & II), and Madurai-Ramanathapuram (under NHDP-III).
The Road Ministry is very close to the target of awarding 7,000 km of road projects.
The government has set up a plan of building 20,000 km of roads under NHDP at 30 km a day.
