The redevelopment of Hadapsar railway terminal is 90 percent complete, with train services scheduled to start from 26 January, 2026.
Initially, two trains, the Hadapsar–Hazur Sahib Nanded Express and the Hadapsar–Harangul Special, will be rerouted from Pune Junction to the new terminal. This move aims to alleviate congestion at Pune Junction. Infrastructure at the terminal is progressing well, with platforms 95 percent complete, and the second foot-over bridge 90 percent finished. Facilities like lifts, escalators, and the new station building are also nearing readiness.
The terminal will act as a satellite hub for better connectivity. However, commuters feel that improved communication and transport options are needed to facilitate the transition.<
