The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRCL) is set to construct two subways linking the Aqua Line, also known as Metro 3, with prominent areas in the city.
One subway will connect Worli Science Centre station to the Mahalaxmi racecourse, the Worli promenade, and Nehru Planetarium. The second subway will link Bandra Kurla Complex station to the upcoming Bullet Train terminal. The subways will span over three km, with the Worli Science Centre subway measuring 1.6 km and the BKC subway 1.4 km.
MMRCL plans to appoint an agency to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) and oversee construction. These subways will improve pedestrian access to various upcoming infrastructure projects, including a new commercial centre and garden on the former Worli Dairy plot. The costs for construction are yet to be determined.
