The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by CM Mohan Yadav, has approved an additional Rs 2,813.21 crore for Jal Jeevan Mission.
Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya informed that the revision in cost, representing a 13.55 percent increase from Rs 6,213.76 crore to Rs 9,026.97 crore, will be borne entirely by the state government. He explained that out of 27,990 approved single village tap water schemes, 15,947 have been completed, while work is underway in 12,043 villages. Funds for 8,358 schemes need revision to ensure tap water supply to seven lakh families.
Alongside, the Cabinet sanctioned 148 group water supply schemes worth Rs 60,786 crore and 27,990 single village schemes costing Rs 20,765 crore. The move strengthens efforts to provide clean drinking water and address health concerns across the state.
