The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved a significant milestone on the Raipur–Visakhapatnam economic corridor (NH-130CD),on 04 October, 2025, with the successful breakthrough of a 2.79 km left hand side twin-tube national highway tunnel.

The project is being executed by the NHAI Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Abhanpur under the NHAI Regional Office, Chhattisgarh. This advancement marks a critical step in enhancing connectivity across Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, contributing to faster travel and improved regional trade. Once completed, the corridor will reduce travel time between key economic hubs, strengthen trade networks, and act as a catalyst for regional economic development.

The tunnel breakthrough highlights NHAI’s commitment to expediting major infrastructure projects that improve national connectivity, logistics efficiency, and trade facilitation. This corridor is expected to play a transformative role in the socioeconomic growth of the connected regions.
