POSCO inaugurated its state of art cold rolling mill at Mangaon in Maharashtra, yesterday. It has been set up at with an investment of $709 million.
The annual production capacity of the cold rolling mill is 1.8 million tonne. POSCO’s Continuous Galvanising Line of 4.5 lakh tonne annual capacity is already operational in Raigadh.
Both the two plants will together produce goods for the white goods industry, which includes automobiles.
Recently, POSCO and SAIL has decided to jointly set up an integrated steel plant in Jharkhand. It is estimated to cost around Rs 18,000 crore and will have a three million tonne capacity.
