Poddar Plumbing, a leading manufacturer of CPVC and PVC pipes, has scaled up its investment in Karnataka from Rs 492 crore to Rs 758 crore, with plans to set up a large-scale production facility in Phase 2 of the Vemgal Industrial Area, Kolar.
Spread across 33 acres, the new unit is expected to commence production by August 2026 and will generate 3,000 direct and 9,000 indirect employment. The company has also proposed a second manufacturing unit in Vijayapura, for which planning is underway. The announcement followed a meeting between Poddar Plumbing’s Managing Director Deepak Poddar, Director Varun Poddar, and Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, MB Patil, at Khanija Bhavan on 29 July, 2025.
The company has already secured 28 acres in Vemgal, with the remaining five acres to be handed over soon. Of the total investment, Rs 93 crore is earmarked for land acquisition, Rs 578 crore for building and machinery, and Rs 87 crore for capital expenditure taxes. The Poddar family was formerly associated with the Aashirvad Pipes brand.
