A major infrastructure project—a 41.5 km greenfield radial road from Raviryal Interchange on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) near Amangal, is set to drive decentralised urban growth and improve regional connectivity in the city’s southern belt.
Designed as a 3+3 lane, partially access-controlled expressway (expandable to 4+4), the project features dedicated space for a future Metro or rail corridor, green buffers, cycle tracks, and pedestrian paths. Strategically aligned with Hyderabad Metro Phase 2-B and the Bharat Future City, the corridor aims to ease congestion and integrate remote zones into the urban framework.
The Rs 4,030 crore project will be executed in two phases. Phase 1 (Raviryal–Meerkhanpet) spans 19.2 km with a construction cost of Rs 1,665 crore and Rs 246 crore allocated for land acquisition. Phase 2 (Meerkhanpet–Amangal) extends 22.3 km, costing Rs 2,365 crore plus Rs 345 crore for land. A total of 1,003.61 acres will be acquired. This includes 202 acres owned by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) and 231.72 acres of designated forest area.
Recently, the state government invited and opened financial bids for both phases through the eprocurement platform. As per official sources, Phase-1 was secured by Rithwik Projects, while Phase 2 was awarded to Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
