Reliance Cement, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure, has received approval from West Bengal Government for its grinding unit at Raghunathpur in Purulia district of the state.
The company intends to set up a 3.5 million tpa cement plant with an investment of Rs 600 crore. It has been awaiting clearance since 2011. The project includes one unit of Portland Pozolona cement of 1.75 million tpa capacity and another unit of Portland Slag cement of 1.75 million tpa capacity.
Moreover, the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation has also allotted the required 100 acre near Durmut village in Raghunathpur Block-I for the project.
In addition to this, the project has already received approval from the state pollution control board. It will source out 30 MW from the grid and will purchase the rest of the requirement from the upcoming power plant of Damodar Valley Corporation at Raghunathpur.
