UltraTech Cement is planning to set up a cement unit at Manawar, Gandhawani, in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
As told to ProjectsToday (PT), the company intends to develop a new cement unit with a capacity of 2.5 million tpa in Madhya Pradesh. The proposed project will also include a clinker unit with a capacity of two million tpa and will also have a 40 MW captive power plant. For the purpose, the company has acquired 300 ha of land.
The project entails an investment of Rs 1,800 crore.
At present, work on the project is in the planning stage and UltraTech Cement is now scouting around for a civil contractor and a machinery supplier. Civil work is expected to begin by November 2014.
