UltraTech Cement, an Aditya Birla Group company, is planning to invest in capex plan for its projects in Rajasthan.
UltraTech plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore to expand its capacity at Aditya Cement Works in Rajasthan by 2.90 million tonne per annum (tpa), including setting up of two grinding units. The additional capacity is expected to be commissioned by March 2015. The current capacity of the Rajasthan plant is 1.5 million tpa.
As part of the expansion plan, the company has increased its cement grinding capacity at the Gujarat plant to 0.60 million tpa, and also increased the bulk terminal at Cochin, Kerala and Wall care putty plant at Katni, Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, UltraTech has commissioned two project, viz, clinkerisation plant at Rawan, Chhattisgarh with a capacity of 3.30 million tpa, and grinding unit at Hotgi, Maharashtra with 1.55 million tpa capacity. With the commissioning of these projects, the company's clinker capacity has increased to 41.80 million tonne and that of cement to 53.90 million tonne. The clinkerisation plant of 3.30 million tpa in Karnataka is expected to go on stream in June 2014.
