Ramco Cement has shown interest in setting up a new cement unit at Kilimigundla village, in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.
The total expenditure to set up this cement plant is Rs 1,500 crore. The overall infrastructure cost will increase to Rs 3,000 crore, for setting up a 20 km rail line for better transportation.
A delegation team of Ramco has approached the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the necessary allocation of land to develop the unit, along with clearance for a rail line construction in this area.
Ramco has pointed out that a new facility, set up near Vishakhapatnam, will be ready for commissioning by 15 October, this year.
