ThyssenKrupp AG will set up a new plant for producing high tech elevators in Pune, at an investment of Rs 300 crore. The project is identified as one of the significant investments following the ‘Make-in-India’ initiative.
The German-based company’s investment will reduce its import dependence to less than 10 per cent from 30 per cent.
The ThyssenKrupp Group’s new multi-elevator technology has brought an end to the rope-dependent elevator. The new technology increases transport capacities and efficiency with the provision to place several cabins in the same shaft. Power consumption can also be reduced by moving the shafts efficiently.
The company also envisages introducing its new innovation in elevators which operate without the support of ropes and can move vertically as well as horizontally.
