The BGR Energy Systems bagged biggest contract of the month worth Rs 1,698 crore in November 2011. The company will set up a coal based power plant on EPC basis for TRN Energy in Chhattisgarh. The turnkey contract completion schedule will be 29 months for Unit I and 32 months for Unit II. Coal linkage for the project has been tied up with South Eastern Coal. This apart, Suzlon Energy received yet another contract from GAIL for 11 units of Suzlon's S88-2.1 MW wind turbines to be commissioned in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka by March 2012.
Along with this contract, the Power sector saw eight contracts worth Rs 2,279 crore being awarded in November 2011. Suzlon Energy received yet another contract from GAIL for 11 units of Suzlon's S88-2.1 MW wind turbines to be commissioned in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka by March 2012.

In the Railways sector, HCC in JV with DSD Brouckenbau GmbH, Germany and VNR Infrastructures won a contract worth Rs 987 crore for the Bogibeel rail-cum-road bridge over river Brahmaputra near Dibrugarh, Assam. The bridge will be a double decked bridge having two railway tracks on the lower deck and a three lane road on the upper deck. The road will be 10.5mtrs above the railway line. The total length of the bridge will be 4.315 km. This will be the fourth largest bridge in the country and the longest bridge over the Brahmaputra river. Said Arun Karambelkar, President and Whole Time Director, HCC, "We are happy to win this prestigious order from
Northeast Frontier Railw ay. This is one of the modern bridge, and HCC along with its joint venture partners is committed to build a world class infrastructure for the Indian Railways. The work on the superstructure will be completed in 48 months." On the whole, a total of 53 contracts worth Rs 12,056 crore were finalised. Among these, 46 contracts worth Rs 10,572 crore were bagged on the domestic front while seven contracts worth Rs 1,484 crore were overseas contracts.
On the overseas front, L&T bagged two road projects in Oman. The orders worth Rs 875 crore are from the Muscat Municipality and from the Ministry of Transport & Communication, Sultanate of Oman for construction of the Wadikabir-Darsait Road and the MahlahGhubbrat Al Tam- Ismaiyah Road. KEC International bagged its second international order in the railways business. The company secured a contract from the Kenya Railway Corporation to supply railway track materials, tools and railway signalling equipment in Kenya.
