July - Sept 2010
Orders & Contracts bagged by Indian companies in the second quarter of the current fiscal 2010-11 indicate tardiness in finalisation of contracts by the awarders, mostly the government agencies.
In all, the quarter (July - Sept 2010) saw 149 orders worth Rs 43,578 crore being awarded. This was not only less than such orders awarded in the preceding quarter (April - June 2010) but also was far less than the statistics observed in the second quarter of the fiscal 2009-10. While during April - June 2010, 185 contracts worth Rs 51,469 crore were awarded, during the second quarter of 2009-10, 200 orders worth Rs 65,415 crore were bagged by Indian companies.
